Having a toothache? Sensitivity to certain temperatures, pressure or sweet foods? You might need a filling.
Dental fillings are used to treat teeth that have cavities or decay. They can also be used to repair injured teeth that have fractures.

How can we help?
We do two types of fillings:
- Composite Filling (most popular)
- Amalgam
The main advantage of the composite fillings are their aesthetic benefits.

What happens if you wait & don't get a filling?
When decay damages a tooth, the destruction to the enamel is irreversible. If the cavity is left untreated, the decay can spread and worsen, destroying healthy parts of the tooth

What are the signs that you may need root canal therapy?
- Severe paint from a toothache upon chewing or when applying any pressure?
- Prolonged sensitivity (pain) to hot or cold temperatures (after the heat or even when the cold has been removed)
- Darkening or discoloration of the tooth.
- Swelling and tenderness in nearby gums.
What happens if you don't get a root canal?
If left untreated, the infection in the tooth can spread to other parts of the body, and in some cases can even be life threatening. If you are in need of a root canal, give us a call as soon as possible
What is the purpose of a root canal?
The purpose of a root canal is to eliminate bacteria from an infected root, preventing reinfection and saving the tooth.
How does it work?
During the process, we remove inflamed or infected pulp, clean and disinfect the inside of the tooth, and then proceed with filling and sealing it.
Don’t Procrastinate When It Comes To Root Canals.
Studies have shown that the spread of dental related infections have been directly linked to heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, and other serious health conditions

Everyone at this dentist office is beyond professional and they treat you with so much genuine care and concern. They go out of their way to assist you and accommodate you with all of your dental needs and concerns. I walk out of their office every time with a smile and a confident mindset that I am always in good hands at this dental office.
Absolute 5 ⭐️ experience every visit.
There are the before and after photos of my teeth. I can’t express what a life changing experience this has been. I was always very subconscious about my teeth. I barely smiled and if I did, I would try to cover my teeth as I did not want anyone to take notice of the mismatched front teeth. I also did not like the amount of gums that showed when I smiled.
When I came to see Dr. Uri he completely changed my life. For some reason, I was no longer scared of the dentist. His relaxed and hip practice makes you forget that you’re at a dental office. The staff are all super nice and helpful. The lab they work with is in the building which makes the experience seamless and convenient. The custom shade selection is also very important when you’re getting veneers. The technician is in the building and they can match any color very fast in the lab. All and all, if you are particular like me and want the best when it comes to anything, you must go to this practice. They are the best at what they do and the best dentist in Los Angeles, IMO. highly recommended!!
My husband recommended that I come here because he had finally found a dentist he could trust to be honest with him give him the care that he needed. Dr. Elnaz is the best! She’s kind and gentle and I appreciate her help so much!

My family and I have been patients of Dr. Gershfeld for over 15 years, his impeccable quality of work, gentle hands, bedside manner are what keep us loyal to his care only. I highly recommend him for all your dental needs, kind of wish he could be our medical physician as well! Lol he’s amazing and his team is great as well, they always work with us on making appointments that fit our crazy schedules. I am grateful for Dr. Gershfeld and his wonderful team!

I live near by there office and was happy to find Noho Family Dental online. Great customer service. Did cleaning and two fillings. The main thing that made me happy that they didn’t try to sell me on the crown and doctor Yury said that filling will be enough, we will be checking and will try to save tooth as much as we can. Cleaning was very gentle. 5 min drive for me. Thank you. Definitely recommend.

Assuming that your surrounding tooth remains healthy and the filling itself is not large, you can expect your filling to last for years, even decades: Gold fillings last the longest, anywhere from 15 to 30 years. Silver amalgam fillings can last from 10 to 15 years before they need to be replaced
How many fillings can be done at once? There really isn’t a limit to the number of fillings your dentist can give you at one time. In fact, if you have a few cavities located in the same area (the upper right of your mouth, for example), your dentist can give you a few tooth fillings all at once.
Fillings are efficiently used to repair a small area of decay, the procedure can be completed fairly quickly, and is a less expensive option. However, a crown is recommended for badly decayed, broken or damaged teeth and offer many, longer-term benefits. Crowns strengthen teeth and will reinforce the tooth’s structure.
Once the material has set, generally after one to two minutes, the impression is removed from your mouth. The temporary crown is shaped to fit your tooth and to remove any rough edges. Once it is ready, a temporary cement is used to secure the temporary crown onto your prepared tooth.
A dental crown after a root canal provides reinforcement to your tooth and restores its health and functionality. Although adding a dental crown is not necessary after every root canal procedure, all root canal procedures need tooth reinforcement.
First, the temporary crown is removed and the fit and color of the permanent crown is checked. If everything is okay, a local anesthetic (“numbing” drug) is sometimes used to numb the tooth and the new crown is permanently cemented in place.
What should I expect after getting a crown? Expect to have some sensitivity or tenderness around the crown or gums for the first few weeks as your mouth heals from the work done. Expect to stay away from sticky and hard/crunchy foods the first day after receiving your crown.
If you need a crown, you will need to make two appointments. Your dentist will shape your tooth during the first appointment and take an impression. Once the crown comes in, you will go back to get it fitted and placed.

Braces and Invisalign are both designed to straighten teeth over time while improving your smile and oral health. Traditional braces consist of metal brackets being attached to your teeth, tied together by wires and tiny rubber bands. Invisalign, on the other hand, is designed to be invisible. The clear aligner trays are made of smooth plastic and worn over the teeth. We use X-rays, pictures, and impressions to create a precise 3-D image of your teeth which we then use to customize your aligners.
Keep in mind, too, that if you need to address issues with your back teeth, or you need to rotate teeth or move them vertically, Invisalign may not even be an option for your particular case.
Patients with orthodontic problems can benefit from treatment at nearly any age. An ideal time for placement of braces is between 10 and 14 years of age, while the head and mouth are still growing and teeth are more conducive to straightening.
Getting braces put on your teeth doesn’t hurt. … Your orthodontist glues brackets onto each of your teeth, and then connects the brackets with wires. Finally, everything is secured with elastic bands. Within a few hours, you will begin to develop some pain and soreness in your teeth and gums
Invisalign treatment is the process of wearing a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth. No brackets and wires, and none of the restrictions that come with metal braces.
People often wonder “How long does Invisalign take to straighten teeth?” A course of treatment with Invisalign takes 12 months for most adults, although actual time will vary from person to person. Many people start seeing a difference in their teeth within two to three months of starting to use the aligners.
Many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign treatment the same way they cover braces. Your insurance may pay for a certain percentage of your Invisalign treatment, or it may pay for a certain dollar amount.
At NoHo Dental we also offer financing through CareCredit. Specifically designed for healthcare expenses, CareCredit is a third-party patient financing program that makes it easier for you to get the treatment or procedures you want and need.
If you already have crowns from previous dental treatment, but you have now decided that you want your teeth straightened, you can still have braces. In the case of traditional metal braces, brackets will just be adhered to the crowns with a different kind of adhesive than they are with natural teeth.
Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. Traditional bridges involve creating a crown for the tooth or implant on either side of the missing tooth, with a false tooth/teeth in between. A cantilever bridge is used when there are teeth on only one side of the open space.
If you’re getting a dental bridge, you should plan on at least 2 appointments.
At your first appointment, your dentist will prepare the surrounding teeth for the procedure much like if you were getting a single crown. A minimal amount of tooth structure will be removed in order to attach the bridge firmly. Because of the level of precision needed to shape the teeth exactly right, this procedure may take up to or over an hour. Your dentist will also take impressions of your teeth and give you a temporary bridge to wear in between appointments.
At your second appointment, your dentist will replace your temporary bridge with a permanent bridge. This appointment may take place up to 3 weeks after your first appointment to give your dentist time to craft the permanent bridge.
If cared for properly, dentures should last a minimum of 5 years. Over time, the bone shrinks and causes the denture to become loose. The rate that this happens varies with each individual, but can be controlled by visiting a dentist regularly to ensure that the denture is fitting properly.
Partial dentures have arms known as clasps that wrap around the tooth to keep it firmly in position. Partial dentures work by attaching a set of artificial teeth to natural teeth in order to replace any missing teeth.
Yes, you can wear your dentures at night but it is preferred that they be removed. You should remove your dentures at night and this will give your gums and bone a chance to relax from the pressure of the denture during the day. … Dentures should be cleaned at night and stored in water during the night.
A removable partial denture (RPD) is a prosthesis that comes in and out of your mouth, and it replaces any missing teeth you may have. A single removable partial denture can replace 1 tooth or almost all the teeth on a single arch. They are typically the cheapest treatment option available
